katedevarney.art
a portfolio and shop for kate beebe devarney's mixed-media paintings.
why i built it
Kate paints. I wanted her time to go to the studio, not to a website, so the site had to keep up with her on its own.
what it is
A portfolio and shop for her mixed-media paintings and her workshops.
Claude skills I wrote for Kate let her manage her inventory in plain language and rebuild the site when things change.
how it's built
- astro
- react islands
- shopify storefront api
- claude skills
- cloudflare pages
- github actions
The site is headless: Shopify holds every painting, price and workshop, and the site is built from it. Pages are static, so they are fast, and small islands check what is still available, so a sold piece shows as sold even before the next build.
